Shuttered in Recent Budget Crisis, Illinois State Museum Gallery Reopens

On the first of this month, state workers, with little advance notice, packed up artworks on view and closed the Illinois State Museum's Lockport gallery, according to the Chicago Tribune 's Frank Vaisvilas. The reason? "The state had stopped covering the space's insurance during the current budget crisis," writes Vaisvilas.
