The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation's appointing Karen Brooks Hopkins as senior fellow in residence, according to the New York Times ' Robin Pogrebin. She'll fill the newly created position after recently stepping down as the president of the Brooklyn Academy of Music-a role she held for thirty-six years.
